Table 4-20 provides an explanation of each Device setting option with all possible
values (default settings are shown in
bold text
).

Setting Function
Device ID [ (none) ,
any text string up to 20 characters
]
Defines the alphanumeric identifier for the scale, which is displayed
during the startup sequence and which may be used in header output
(see “Protocol - Header/Footer (common items)” on page 4-19).
Language [ English , Français ]
Selects the language of the scale’s interface and output.
Key tone [ Off, On ]
Enables sounding a tone when a key is pressed.
Advice tone [ Off, On ]
Enables sounding a tone when an alert or message is displayed.
The AccuCount II only sounds an alert when communicating with a PC
and there is some kind of delay; in that case, the message
Data transmisson timeout! displays.
Display contrast [ Low, Medium , High ]
Adjusts the level of the display contrast.
Display backlight [ Off, 20%, 40% , 60%, 80%, 100% ]
Adjusts the level of the display backlight (e.g., increase the value in dim
lighting conditions, decrease or turn it off in bright conditions).
Headline [ Device info , Date/Time ]
Device info The headline displays the running application.
Date/Time The headline displays the running application
and the system clock with the date and time.
Home [ Applications , User ]
Applications The Applications menu appears when you press
and hold the
Home key.
User The User menu appears when you press and hold
the
Home key.
