DSU Compatibility

For primary channel communication, the standalone

Model 3610 and the carrier-mounted Model 3611 DSUs
are fully compatible with all Paradyne DSU products.
Point-to-point and multipoint circuits are not limited to
connections between 3600 Series DSUs; many other
combinations of equipment are possible.

NOTE

The compatibility of the
3600 Series DSUs with the 2500
and 2600 Series devices supports
a smooth transition to an all
3600 Series network.

Table 1-4

lists the diagnostic capabilities supported by

a 3600 Series DSU communicating with another device.
In each combination of equipment, the Model 3610 and
3611 DSUs can be either the control or the tributary.
