PROFINET
General information
The switch
TREE-managed PROFINET switch
is a PROFINET IO device.
The switch complies with the requirements of Realtime Class 1, Conformance
Class B and Security Level / Netload class 1. The data interval is 128 ms.
The switch provides parameters, diagnostic and alarm functions which can be
configured and evaluated by the PROFINET PLC.
The configuration as a PROFINET IO device allows a simplified device re-
placement (automatic name assignment). The PROFINET PLC configures the
replacement device automatically.
In the PROFINET applications, the PROFINET PLC can perform the following
actions:
putting the switch into operation,
assigning a specific, unique name to the switch
assigning an IP address,
setting alarms, diagnostics and MRP configuration
NOTICE
For this, the PLC establishes an AR connection to the switch (AR = Application
Relation).
During the AR operation, the instructions described under
AR operation
apply.
Configuration in the
project engineering tool
GSDML file
You will find the GSDML file required for the configuration:
on the web server of the switch (see chapter 11.3) or
in the online shop of Murrelektronik GmbH (
www.murrelektronik.com
) un-
der the article number of the switch.
Configuration tool
Among other, the project engineering programs STEP 7 or TIA portal of Sie-
mens can be used as configuration tools.
Configuration
Important information on the switch
TREE-managed PROFINET switch
:
Device ID: 0x303
Vendor ID: 0x012F
The PROFINET device name is assigned to the IO device by the IO controller.
This is a prerequisite for the automatic name assignment to the device.
In the GSDML file, there is an entry with the name
DNS_CompatibleName
.
This name is used by the TIA portal as the default name. If there are several
devices of the same type, the TIA portal generates a unique name for other IO
devices. Normally, a consecutive number is added.
NOTICE
The PROFINET device name is not synchronized with the SNMP MIB-2.
These names are different, there is no interdependence.
