Access
The current version of the switch can be accessed over HTTP (port 80) or
HTTPS (port 443).
NOTE
These options are currently unavailable:
Deactivating HTTP
Changing the ports from 80 or 443
Unencrypted access
over HTTP
All data transferred between the browser and switch using the HTTP protocol
will be unencrypted. Plain text will be provided if a log is kept of the data that
is exchanged.
Encrypted access over
HTTPS
The HTTPS protocol can be used for security purposes. When this protocol is
used, the browser and the switch negotiate how to encrypt the transmitted da-
ta.The address data will be provided in plain text if a log is kept of the data that
is exchanged. The actual data is encrypted using the method negotiated be-
tween the browser and switch.
NOTE
You will need a compatible browser in order to use HTTPS,
e.g., MS Internet Explorer 10.
