Port mirroring

Read data
Port mirroring passively reads incoming (ingress) and outgoing (egress) data
that passes through a selected port.
You can use the
PORTS > Port mirroring
page to activate or deactivate ports
for port mirroring and configure a destination port. You can select any destina-
tion port.
Record data
You can connect a measurement device (PC) at the destination port to record
data for port mirroring purposes.
NOTE
The measurement device must not send data actively.
Port utilization
Multiple ports can be monitored. The function is limited by the maximum utili-
zation of the destination port.
NOTE
The destination port can be overloaded if the utilization level of the ingress/
egress ports is high. This can lead to data being lost at the destination port.
However, it does not affect the data transfer itself.
