EAPoL Configuration Guidelines

When

configuring

EAPoL,

consider

the

following

guidelines:



The

802.1X

port

‐

based

authentication

currently

supported

only

point

‐

point

configurations,

that

is,

with

single

supplicant

connected

802.1X

‐

enabled

switch

port.



When

802.1X

enabled,

port

has

the

authorized

state

before

any

other

Layer

feature

can

operationally

enabled.

For

example,

the

STG

state

port

operationally

disabled

while

the

port

the

unauthorized

state.



The

802.1X

supplicant

capability

not

supported.

Therefore,

none

its

ports

can

successfully

connect

802.1X

‐

enabled

port

another

device,

such

another

switch,

that

acts

authenticator,

unless

access

control

the

remote

port

disabled

For
