Entering the offset values for sensor measurements
The
Offsets
dialog box allows you to correct or balance some known deviations when
measuring depth and/or height. Alternatively, you can enter the offset value from the
relevant configuration dialog box.
Prerequisites
You can define the offset values of the measurements previously set up in the relevant
sensor configuration dialog boxes.
Context
You can manually enter the offset value for the relevant sensor relative to the starting
point.
When measuring height, offset is normally used to compensate the value read by the
sensors placed on the trawl door. If you want to know the height from the door to the
seafloor, you must enter the offset value to compensate the distance between where the
sensor is placed on the door and the bottom of the door itself. The distance between the
door adapter and the bottom of the door is the relevant offset.
When measuring depth by the depth lid of a sensor, there will always be a deviation in
readings of a approxi/- 1 or 2 m.
Procedure
1 Open the
Setup
menu.
2 Select
Offsets
to open the
Offsets
dialog box.
3 Enter the offset value for every measurement in the space provided for it.
4 Select
OK
to save the selected settings and close the dialog box.

Changing the configuration of a sensor
When you select
Modify Sensor
you can change its location on the gear, its name, its
communication channel or its main configuration parameters.
Prerequisites
If a sensor was added to the system with the programming cable, you will only be able
