9.16 Triming model

About this task

The Trim Model tool can be used to remove sections of the model using a

straight cutting line instead of manually erasing.

Steps

1. Click and drag to draw the Trim Model line.

The system removes the data.

NOTE

If you are straightening out the base of the model, do NOT remove

too much gingival tissue or you may have difficulty with aligning your

models.

Ensure you have your model at an even angle before trimming. If you

trim while the model is angled sharply, you could accidentally trim away

good data on the other side of a full arch case.

NOTE

Trim your models before adding them to a Group. If you trim them after

they are aligned, that layer will be removed and need to be manually

added back to the Group.
