3D PLOT
To display the results of the “
3D PLOT
” diagnostic, in
the “
TREAD PLOT
” screen,
select:
“
3D PLOT
” item (
2, Fig. 6-81
),
Then the “
3D PLOT
” screen (
Fig. 6-82
) appear.
Fig. 6-82
The centre of the screen displays the three dimensional
reconstruction of the complete wheel (
A
).
Note
:
The front wheel view on the screen, “
I
” index
(
Fig. 6-82
), corresponds to the 12 o’clock
physical position and it is updated as the wheel
rotates.
The colour scale is assigned to the external structure
of the tyre, according to the changes in height, bulges
and dips in the surface. The rim colour, grey, is always
neutral.
On the right there are the scales used to control the
colorimetric sensitivity (
B
).
The left scale refers to the sidewalls, whilst the right
scale refers to the tread.
The sensitivity of the colour scales applied to the
changes in height of the surfaces is controlled with
the Menu key (
4
).
Note
:
The change in colour corresponds to the dips and
bulges of the surface. To achieve a greater definition
compared to a smaller variation in the depth of
the tread, compress the range of the colour scale
applied to the surfaces. Vice versa when analysing
a wheel with a deep tread pattern, extend the colour
scale in order to view larger differences in the tread.
We recommend adjusting the colour scale based
on the condition of the tread, to highlight all wear
irregularities.
To change the sensitivity:
—
Press the Menu key (
4
, “
-
”) to compress the
colorimetric scale.
The entire range of colours is used in a more restricted
field of variation of the surfaces (worn tread).
—
Press the Menu key (
4
, “
+
”) to extend the colour
scale. The colours indicate the most pronounced
differences (deep tread pattern).
