Frame Servicing

(1) AXLE

Installation

Clean the surfaces where the axle and axle clamps
contact each other.
Place the front wheel between the fork legs.

Use care to avoid damaging the brake pads.

Apply a thin layer of grease to the axle.
Install the axle from the left side.

(1) AXLE NUT (2) AXLE HOLDER BOLTS

Hold the axle and tighten the axle nut to the speci-
fied torque.

Torque: 70 N•m (7.1 kgf•m, 51 lbf•ft)

Tighten the right axle holder bolts to the specified
torque.

Torque: 22 N•m (2.2 kgf•m, 16 lbf•ft)

(1) AXLE HOLDER BOLTS

With the front brake applied, pump the fork up and
down several times to seat the axle and check the
front brake operation.

Tighten the left axle holder bolt to the specified
torque.

Torque: 22 N•m (2.2 kgf•m, 16 lbf•ft)
