Engine Servicing

(1) SPROCKET BOLTS

(1) SPROCKET BOLTS

(1) HOLDER BOLTS
(2) HOLDER BOLTS/COPPER WASHERS
(3) HOLDER A (4) HOLDER B

(1) INTAKE CAMSHAFT
(2) EXHAUST CAMSHAFT

If you plan to replace the camshaft and/or cam
sprockets, turn the crankshaft one full turn (360˚)
from the TDC (Top Dead Center) on the compression
stroke, loosen the can sprocket bolts.

Turn the crankshaft one full turn (360˚), loosen the
other sprocket bolts.

Make sure the piston at TDC (Top Dead Center) on
the compression stroke, remove the camshaft hold-
er bolts and copper washers, then remove the
camshaft holder A and B.

Remove the intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft.

Suspend the cam chain with a piece of wire to pre-
vent the cam chain falling into the crankcase.

Disassembly/Inspection

Remove the cylinder head cover packing and pack-
ing B from the cylinder head cover.

If necessary remove the bolts and breather plate
from the cylinder head cover.
