Engine Servicing
(1) VALVE SEAT WIDTH
Inspect the width of each valve seat.
Valve seat width:
IN/EX: 1.0 mm (0.04 in)
If the seat is too wide, too narrow or has low spots,
replace the cylinder head and valve as a set.

Check that the cam chain guide and cam chain ten-
sioner for excessive wear or damage, replace if nec-
essary.
Check that the cam chain guide B for excessive wear
or damage, replace if necessary.

(1) TENSIONER LIFTER
Tensioner lifter
Check the tensioner lifter operation as follows:
– The tensioner shaft should not go into the body
when it is pushed.
– When it is turned clockwise with a screwdriver,
the tensioner shaft should be pulled into the body.
The shaft should spring out of the body as soon as
the screwdriver is released.
