10.3 Operating the metering system
10.3.1 General notes
The parts inside the metering unit are precision parts!
1. Negative impact such as contamination, leaks, moisture or wear compromise
the quality of the seed.
2. Always handle the parts carefully and without force.
3. Replace parts if worn or damaged.
4. Do not oil, grease or spray the parts with corrosion protection agents. The
parts would stick together or become porous.
5. Tighten screws only by hand when replacing components. Do not use power
screwdrivers.
6. Do not damage the cables.
7. When assembling housing parts, join the individual parts correctly applying
only slight pressure.
10.3.2 Changing and adjusting components
Various quick change fixtures on the metering unit facilitate efficient conversion, ad-
justment and maintenance.
Emptying the metering
unit

1. Open the quick closures and remove the removable half of the housing.
2. Position the grain feed gate all the way down.
3. Hook in the emptying bag (1) resp. the clearing channel.
4. Dismantle the metering disk and empty the metering chamber.
5. If necessary, position the grain feed gate upward to empty the seed hopper.
NOTE
The metering unit must first be emptied before replacing the following compon-
ents.
