1. Drive the travel distance with constant speed (approx. 50 m).
2. After the acceleration phase the grains should have been placed at normal
working speed.
3. Open seed furrows of various rows (distributed across the entire working
width) over a length of at least 10 m.
4. In this case you must also open and check the rows behind the tractor tracks.
5. Uncover the grains carefully from the side, so that they will not be displaced in
the seed bed.
6. Measure the placement depth and the grain spacing.
7. The nominal seed spacing is displayed in the E-Manager terminal.
NOTE
Any changes to the metering unit can influence the placement accuracy.
Pay attention to the evaluation and the display in the terminal, repeat the test se-
quences in case of negative changes.
Sowing soy When sowing soy, the seed is not correctly detected to 100% by the sensor.
The placement must therefore strictly be inspected in the field.
1. Read the nominal seed spacing in the monitor.
2. Calculate the nominal seed quantity per meter.
Example:
Nominal grain spacing 2 cm
100 cm: 2 cm = 50 seeds/m
3. Open 1 meter and count the seeds (= actual quantity of grains)
4. Compare the nominal seed quantity with the actual seed quantity.
5. Adjust the nominal seed spacing, if necessary.
10.3.4 Cleaning the metering unit

1. Blow out the metering unit.
2. Accumulation of seed or grain fragments between metering disc and housing
(2,3).
Dismantle the metering disc for cleaning.
Possible causes: Distance between metering disc and housing too large, non-
homogeneous or impure seed, high percentage of grain fragments, etc.
3. Check the spacing between metering disc and housing and reduce, if neces-
sary, see Changing components.
