16. Drilling can be started if the appropriate speed range is displayed after enter-
ing the weight.
17. If the indicated speed range is not suitable for drilling, the metering auger may
need to be replaced and the calibration process repeated.
Adjusting the air volume
The required air quantity, i.e. the adjustment of the gate valve, depends on a num-
ber of variables.
Besides the data for working width, number of rows, required quantity kg/ha and
working speed, the shape, weight and surface of the granulate is also of signific-
ance.
Not too much air should be used, so that granulate is blown out of the seed furrow
or from the surface.
With higher air volumes dust will also accumulate increasingly on the components.
The function of the grain count sensor can be affected by this.
If the air quantity is too low, the transverse distribution may get worse or the hoses
may block up. No granulate should remain in the hoses.
In case of deposits open the gate valve further or increase the fan speed.
Transverse distribution
The effect of insufficient air and poor transverse distribution is difficult to be recog-
nized, or only after the seed has come up. You should therefore always use rather
more than not enough air.
For the reason of comparison, you may place some granulate / fertiliser on the sur-
face.
For an exact measurement the quantities from the individual hoses must be caught
and the volume or weight compared for comparison.
An exact specification for the gate valve adjustment is therefore hardly possible.

Operate first with the basic setting.
Ø
If granulate is blown out, close the gate valve in small increments until no
more granulate is blown out from the furrow.
Ø For higher amount of granulate, open the gate valve accordingly.
NOTE
The pneumatic system of the Micro-granular compound facility is not monitored!
Hoses and distributor of the Micro-granular compound facility must therefore be
checked and cleaned before use and several times during use for leak tightness and
deposits.
