8 Drill unit
NOTE
Any changes and settings made on the assembly groups of the drill unit, which in-
fluence the placement of seed or fertiliser, have an effect on the quality of the seed.

The placement of seed and fertiliser must therefore be checked when starting
work, when making changes to settings and, when working on larger areas,
also regularly in between.
The individual drill units of the Maestro are flanged to a foldable transverse frame.
All assembly groups for single grain drilling are attached to the drill unit.

8.1 Components
8.1.1 Coulter discs
The coulter discs open the seed channel through their wedge-type arrangement to-
ward each other.
The coulter discs must touch each other at this.
Checking coulter discs
The coulter discs are set correctly when the following conditions are met:
• When one coulter disc turns, the opposite disc turns as well on its own.
• The clearing unit is not clamped together with the discs (between the coulter
discs).
