Precision Platform 4022 Scanner

Scanner Maintenance

7.

If lengths are okay then disconnect the power tracks from the head
carriages. This is done by removing the bolts connecting the
vertical power track brackets to the head carriages.

8.

Disconnect power track from the Cable end.

9.

Remove the power track.

10.

Install new power track reversing the previous steps.

11.

Adjust power track using the procedure in Subsection 9.3.1.2.

9.4. Carriages, static drain wire and tracks

9.4.1. Replacing the carriage wheels

Each head carriage has 16 load wheels and 16 guide wheels. The wheels
are mounted in wheel pad assemblies attached to the upper and lower
head carriers. The load wheels are set parallel to the horizontal top track
surface, while the guide wheels are set parallel to the vertical side
surfaces.

When replacing load wheels, replace all of the load wheels at the same
time.

Use this procedure to replace the carriage load wheels and guide wheels
(see Figure 9-3):

Scan the heads to the offsheet position at the cable end and turn off
the Motor Power keyswitch.

WARNING

To perform any maintenance,
troubleshooting, or replacement of
components, ensure that power is disabled at
the breaker.

Remove all of the beam covers. See Subsection 9.1.7.
