Precision Platform 4022 Scanner
Site Preparation
scanner and maneuvering it onto the mounting pedestals. Arrangements
must be made in advance to have the necessary lifting equipment
available at the time the installation is to occur.
In general, lifting a scanner requires equipment such as a crane, cables,
slings, and blocks. The equipment required to lift a particular scanner
depends on the following factors:
•
Scanner weight and length
•
Maximum anticipated angles of tilt from vertical during lift and
placement of the scanner on the mounting pedestals:
The 4022 Scanner weighs 181kg/m (10 lbs/in) of beam length plus 680kg
(1,500lbs), depending on the sensor configuration. This weight is
approximate and may vary depending on the head configuration. The
center of the scanner will not be the center of gravity, as the cable end of
the scanner is heavier. The angles of tilt depend on the particular site
configuration.
WARNING
:
Do NOT plan to exceed a ±10° angle of tilt for the lifting cables or
the scanner unless you have specifically consulted with Honeywell
personnel about this issue. The supplied lifting eyes are rated only
for a ±10° angle of tilt.
Be sure to choose the proper lifting equipment based on scanner
weight and length, and on maximum anticipated angles of tilt for
the lifting cables and the scanner itself. If it is necessary to sling the
scanner, slings may be run between the track and the upper beam.
However, the slings should be near the scanner ends and kept clear
of the track studs and the upper cover supports as they may
damage the structure. Never for any reason lift the scanner by the
tracks as this will damage the tracks.
Failure to strictly observe all of these guidelines could result in
SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH.
