6.5. MSS electronics 

The Measurement SubSystem (MSS) resides in a rack in the 4604-02 PMP. 
It controls the scanner and sensor operation, and acquires and digitizes 
the filtered sensor signals. The MSS is made up of a chassis with 
backplane, a Single Board Computer, an Ethernet interface and a set of 
data acquisition boards as required by the sensor configuration.  

The 4604-02 PMP uses low density data acquisition electronics.
