Installing the incubator
When placed in an i.Series incubator, the i.Series agitator can be monitored by the incubator’s AgiTrak
system, a feature that is only available on i.Series incubators. The AgiTrak system receives alarm
information through a direct connection to the agitator’s alarm system, then communicates those alarms.
When placed in a Horizon Series incubator, the i.Series agitator cannot be monitored by the incubator. If
the agitator stops moving, the alarm on the agitator sounds; however, because the agitator is inside the
incubator, the sound level may be lower than desired. An extension to the alarm system may be desired for
this configuration.
Horizon Series agitators (PF15h, PF48h, and PF96h) are not equipped with an alarm system, and may be placed
in Horizon Series incubators. If Horizon Series agitators are placed in i.Series incubators, users may mistakenly
think that the incubator’s AgiTrak system will detect if motion has stopped, even though there is no means of
detecting it. Therefore, Horizon Series agitators are not recommended for use in i.Series incubators.

Size limitations and the presence of an alarm system determine which Helmer agitator models can be
placed in which incubator models. For more information, see
Section 3.10.1, “Understanding model
compatibility for Helmer agitators and incubators.”
The PC100, PC900, and PC1200 model incubators can each hold one agitator. In the back of the chamber
of each of these models, there are one power connector and one I/O (input/output) connector. The PC2200
and PC3200 model incubators can each hold one agitator per shelf. Each shelf has a corresponding power
connector and I/O connector. The I/O connector is only used with Helmer i.Series agitators, which have a
corresponding I/O port to connect to it.
When installing an agitator on a shelf in PC2200 and PC3200 models, use the corresponding power
connector to prevent obstructions from the power cord. When installing an i.Series agitator, use the
corresponding I/O connector so that agitation information is tracked appropriately. The shelves on the
incubator can be rolled out for easier installation.
