View the event log to determine the temperature at the time the high temperature alarm event started.
Compare this value to the alarm setpoint. If the values do not match, see Section 8, “Understanding
and addressing operational issues”
for information on how to proceed.
To cancel an automatic test in progress

From the MAIN screen, use the buttons to navigate to and select the System Alarm Test & Status
option. The SYSTEM ALARM TEST & STATUS screen appears.

Press the UP or DOWN button until the Cancel High or Low Test option is highlighted.

Press the ENTER button. The test is cancelled.

Testing the power failure alarm
!
CAUTION:
Testing the power failure alarm requires that you turn off the power to the incubator,
which may affect the chamber temperature. Before testing the alarm, take precautions
to protect items in the incubator from extended exposure to adverse temperatures.
You can test the power failure alarm to ensure that it activates appropriately.
During a power failure, the backup batteries continue to provide power to the monitoring system.
To test the power failure alarm on i.Series models

Confirm that the incubator is connected to AC power.

Identify the current setting for the power failure timeout.

Change the setting for the power failure timeout to zero minutes. For instructions, see
Section 4.4.2,
“Changing the setpoints for the door open and power failure alarms.”

Confirm that the key switch for the backup battery is turned to the On ( │ ) position.

Press the main power switch to the Off (
) position. The power failure alarm should activate
immediately, causing the following to happen: the audible alarm sounds, the AC Power Failure
message appears on the HOME screen, and an event is added to the event log indicating that the power
failure alarm condition started.

Press the main power switch to the On ( │ ) position. The power failure alarm should clear, causing the
following to happen: the audible alarm clears, the AC Power Failure message clears from the HOME
screen, and an event is added to the event log indicating that the power failure alarm condition reset.

Change the setting for the power failure timeout back to the original value.
To test the power failure alarm on Horizon Series models
1
Confirm that the incubator is connected to AC power and that the leads are connected to the backup
battery for the monitoring system.
2
On the front of the incubator, enable the audible temperature and power failure alarm.

For PC4200h models, turn the key switch to Position 2 to enable the audible temperature and
power failure alarm, but disable the motion alarm.
►
For all other Horizon models, turn the key switch to the On ( │ ) position.

Turn off the incubator by pressing the main power switch to the Off (
) position.

Disconnect the incubator from power. The power failure alarm should activate immediately.
5
Connect the incubator to power. The power failure alarm should clear.
6
Turn on the incubator by pressing the main power switch to the On ( │ ) position.
