Testing the motion alarm
NOTE:
This section only applies for i.Series models and PC4200h models.

CAUTION:
Testing the motion alarm requires that you open the door to the incubator,
which may affect the chamber temperature. Before testing the alarm, take
precautions to protect items in the incubator from extended exposure to adverse
temperatures.
To test the motion alarm on i.Series models

Confirm that the incubator is connected to AC power.

Identify the current settings for Agitator Alarm 1.

Change the settings for Agitator Alarm 1 so that the alarm is ON (enabled) and the timeout is set to
zero minutes. For instructions, see Section 4.4.3, “Changing the settings for motion alarms.”

Turn on the incubator and start agitation by doing one of the following:

For PC4200i models, press the main power switch to the On ( │ ) position and close the doors.
►
For all other i.Series models, press the main power switch to the On ( │ ) position on the incubator
and on the agitators, and close the doors.

Stop agitation by opening a door on the incubator. The motion alarm should activate immediately, causing
the following to happen: the audible alarm sounds, the Agitator 1 Stopped message appears on the HOME
screen, and an event is added to the event log indicating that the motion alarm condition started.

Start agitation by closing the doors on the incubator. The motion alarm should clear, causing the
following to happen: the audible alarm clears, the Agitator 1 Stopped message clears from the HOME
screen, and an event is added to the event log indicating that the motion alarm condition reset.

Change the settings for Agitator Alarm 1 back to the original values.
To test the motion alarm on PC4200h models

Confirm that the incubator is connected to AC power.

On the front of the incubator, enable the audible motion alarm by turning the key switch to Position 1.

Start agitation by pressing the main power switch to the On ( │ ) position.

Stop agitation by opening a door on the incubator. After the motion alarm delay period elapses, the
motion alarm should activate, causing an audible alarm to sound.

Start agitation by closing the doors on the incubator. The motion alarm should clear.

Testing the door open alarm
NOTE:
This section only applies to i.Series models.

CAUTION:
Testing the door open alarm may require that you leave the incubator door open
for an extended period of time, which may affect the chamber temperature.
Before testing the alarm, take precautions to protect items in the incubator from
extended exposure to adverse temperatures.
You can test the door open alarm to ensure that it activates at the appropriate time.
