Maintaining the drive shaft and motor

Regulations for your organization may require that only designated service
personnel access and maintain the drive shaft and motor. Follow the
guidelines for your organization.

Follow all chemical handling and disposal requirements and procedures specified
by your organization. For more information, see Section 1, “Working safely.”
The drive shaft and motor for the agitator are located inside the base. They should be checked periodically
for cleanliness and wear. The drive shaft has two bearings. The bearing on the end connected to the drive
plate must be lubricated.
You must have the following to access the drive shaft and motor and lubricate the bearing:

th bearing grease
To remove the side panels

Disable the power failure alarm by doing one of the following:

PC4200i models: turn the key switch to the Off (
) position.
►
PC4200h models: turn the key switch to Position 3.

Turn off the incubator and disconnect it from AC power.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the side panels to the base.
To lubricate the bearing
►
Inject bearing grease into the grease fitting on the bearing.

To install the side panels
►
Position the panels on the base, then install and tighten the screws to secure them to the base.

Maintaining the wheels
Check the four wheels on the agitator periodically for cleanliness and wear. Use a #2 Phillips-head
screwdriver to remove the cover from the front wheels.
If the wheels need to be replaced, contact a qualified service technician.
