Important Notes:
• Use copper conductors only.
• Check to see that the device type and rating is suitable for the application.
•
DO NOT
install if product has any visible damage.
• If moisture or condensation is evident, allow the product to dry completely
before installation.
• Operate between -40 °F – 138 °F (-40 °C –70 °C), ambient.
• Do NOT remove PIR lens assembly. Doing so would void IP65 compliance
(wet locations) and degrade performance.
• For more information, see
www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/3691100.pdf
• Sensors: For Emergency applications – Devices require a 1 second delay
before emergency power is applied after loss of normal power for proper
system functionality. This is not applicable for use with an Uninterruptable
Power Supply (UPS) backup system.

FCC / IC Information
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules and Industry Canada license-
exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any
interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Modifications
not expressly approved by Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. could void the user’s authority
to operate this equipment.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy
and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause
harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Re-orient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.

• The Limelight by Lutron UL Listed RSM must be physically connected to a conductive
surface that is earth grounded (e.g. conduit, junction box, luminaire, etc.) One way to do this
if mounting to a non-grounded surface is to use a locknut with a ground connection. For
Equipment Grounding purposes, use minimum 0.5 in (12 mm) rigid or flexible metal conduit,
or metal junction box terminated in Listed fittings for the supply input and interconnection
between the Control Box and Lighting Fixture.
• The Limelight by Lutron UL Listed RSM should always be mounted with the occupancy
sensor lens pointing toward the ground surface.
• See wiring diagram for details. If being used as a non-dim load controller, cap the violet wire
and cap the pink** wire.
• Install in a location that allows the sensor to have an unobstructed view of the area.
Mounting Notes
• The LL-EXTMOUNT has been tested to the IP65 dust and water ingress protection standards.
• Regardless of whether factory or field installed, it is the responsibility of the installer to attach
the Limelight by Lutron to the fixture in a manner that maintains the IP65 integrity.
• Lutron will only warranty water ingress issues if proper attachment methods are observed and
documented.
• An excellent method of attachment to a fixture is by using a Myers Hub (not included):
– There are a variety of styles depending on the luminaire type, environment and desired
occupancy coverage.
– Ensure that the Myers Hub includes an O-ring gasket that has excellent environmental
ratings.
– When using a Myers Hub, the best solution is to use a thread sealant. If thread sealant is not
available, apply high torque in all areas.
• For installation by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
Wireless Range Best Practices
• Wire length from output of LL-EXTMOUNT to LED Driver shall be no longer than
50 ft (15 m) with wire gauge the same as or larger diameter than LL-EXTMOUNT
wire gauge.

– RSM needs to be powered continuously (it should NOT be switched on and off by
external means)
– Default Conditions
∙ The default state of the radio LED is solid on. A solid on red LED means the node is
not in a network and is waiting to join a network.
∙ The red PIR LED comes on solid for a second upon power up, and then will flash
quickly when it detects motion.
