STEP 5
Check the detector voltage reading on the GUI calibration screen for the
stage you are calibrating. If it is 4V (+/- 0.1V) the rf detector requires no
adjustment and you can continue with the next step to finish the software
calibration. If it is not within this range then you will need to refer to
paragraph "5.5.6 RF Detector Adjustment" on page 5-21 to adjust the
detector, then return here to finish the calibration.
NOTE:
If the voltage drops to zero while you are attempting to calibrate, the cabinet's RF
power has probably turned off (as per the 2 minute door timer). If that happens,
close the cabinet door, press the transmitter On button, then open the cabinet door
and resume calibration (does not apply to Control Cabinet).
STEP 6
Verify approximately 4Vdc appears on the GUI Power
Calibrations screen 4.2.2.1 and that the RFLD button is
pressed for the stage you are calibrating.
STEP 7
Using the INCREASE/DECREASE and SLOW/FAST
buttons, adjust the reflected power to 10% of the forward power reading
noted earlier (move the decimal point to the left one place).
EXAMPLE: Set the reflected reading to 100 watts for a 1000 watts
forward power reading. Note that this does not change the voltage.
STEP 8
Press the SAVE DATA button to record your calibration. Once you’ve
saved the data, you have only a few minutes to remove the reflected
power cable from the forward power directional coupler port before the
VSWR overload circuit is re-activated.
STEP 9
Re-connect the forward and reflected cables to the proper directional
couplers and return the 10dB test pad to it’s holder in the back of the
Control Cabinet.
STEP 10
If the detector was adjusted, be sure to return JP1 to the normal position,
pins 1-2 and secure the detector assembly.
