WARNING: Disconnect primary power prior to servicing.

Diamond Series™

Section 5 Maintenance and Alignments

STEP 10

Place JP9 in the 2-3 position and JP12 in the 1-2 position.

STEP 11

Turn ON the Driver by pressing S1 on the Driver Control Board.

STEP 12

On the Driver Control Board, turn RF Amp Bias Adjust R59 CW until 

the voltage across R42 is now 40mVdc. This corresponds to a pallet 
current of 4 amps.

STEP 13

Turn OFF the Driver by depressing S2. Re-connect the driver to the 

transmitter and turn the transmitter ON to resume operation.

5.7.3

Driver AGC Set-up

a.

Adjust R88 and R89 fully CCW on 
the Driver Control Board.

b.

Apply a 120mW average power signal 
from your exciter to the rear panel 
Driver RF Input. Take the cable off 
the Driver RF input and connect it to a 
digital power meter to measure and set 
this level using the exciter power 
adjust. Once set, re-connect the cable 
to the Driver RF input.

c.

Apply AC power to the DD-1 and turn 
ON the Driver by pressing S1 on the 
Driver Control Board, see Figure 5-9.

d.

Adjust Driver Control R89 CW for a 4 volt indication at TP25, see Figure above 
for control and test point locations.

e.

Turn the transmitter ON and adjust R88 CW for the required transmitter power 
output.

5.7.4

RF OK indication set-up

a.

After the nominal RF output power has been set, decide what reduced output 
level will be the trip point for switching drive chains (in a dual exciter/driver 
transmitter) or for simply generating a drive chain output alarm in single exciter/
driver systems.

b.

Reduce the exciter drive to the DD-1 to 50% of nominal (factory setting is 50%) 
or to the desired alarm level.

c.

Adjust R37 until the Driver Control Board “RF OK” green LED on the front 
panel goes out. See Figure 5-9 for location of R37.
