Example of Configuration Worksheet Entries – UAS 7000 with 7001 NIU
2.
At the top of the table, fill in the NIU slot number and the highway to which it is assigned.
Each row in the body of the table represents one DS0/timeslot supported by that NIU and
highway.
3.
Fill in one table row for each 64 kbps loop you intend to configure, two sequential rows for
each 124 kbps loop. The first column is the DIU slot number, the second is the loop num-
ber, and the third is the data rate. The timeslot assignments you plan here are to be made in
Circuit Configuration.
4.
Complete a worksheet table for each NIU and highway to be used in the shelf (or pair of
shelves), then carefully cross check them to make sure no DS0 assignments are duplicated.
5.
Use the completed worksheet tables as a guide when you configure DIUs.
Unit Configuration
The UAS 7626 Unit Configuration screen shown in Figure 5-4 presents a screen of configuration
options for setting the operating speeds, and the highway and timeslot (DS0) assignments of the
six loops that the unit can support.
Each on-screen selection number is associated with the row of current setting entry fields for one
loop. Table 5-1, which follows the figure, lists the settings available for each option. The table is
followed by the procedure for setting options and saving the configuration settings.
The four display fields at the top of the screen are fixed values.
The individual loops of a UAS 7626 DIU can be directed to different highways and LIUs.
