Type 1 and press the Enter key.
The SCM responds by displaying a message that it is polling the shelf, and then returns to
the Current Service States screen. If the operation succeeded the new state is displayed for
the unit.
If the state is still Down after a command to go into service, it indicates the unit is not
configured correctly to go into service.

Exit from the SCM card terminal interface functions by typing G and pressing the Enter
key at each screen until the Shelf Inventory screen is displayed.

Diagnostics
There are two different terminal interface Diagnostics screens, one for the UAS 7616 NIU
(generic) and one for the UAS 7616ML NIU (multi-link). The Diagnostic screens are the only
difference between the terminal interfaces of the two units. The Diagnostic screen for the generic
unit is shown in Figure 4-11 and that for the multi-link unit is shown in Figure 4-12.
The generic unit supports two tests for each loop channel: Digital Loop, and Self Test. The multi-
link unit also supports a Remote Digital Loop test for each loop channel. That difference results
in different selection numbering for the two types of unit.
Table 4-3 describes the options.
