Repeat steps 10 – 11 for each BER alarm you are configuring to be Reported.

After you’ve made all required changes and you are certain they are correct, type S and
press the Enter key to save your configuration changes. Then press the Enter key a second
time, to return to the Alarm Configuration screen.
If you start to leave the Alarm Threshold configuration screen while there are unsaved
changes, the screen displays
*WARNING - EXITING WITHOUT SAVING CHANGES Continue? [ ] Y(es), N(o)
You can type
N
and press the Enter key to keep the screen on display while you perform a
save, or you can type
Y
and press the Enter key to finish exiting. Unsaved changes are lost
if you exit without performing a save.

To dismiss the Alarm Configuration screen, type selection 0,
Return to Main Menu,
and press the Enter key.
Circuit Configuration
The circuit configuration function enables you to make backplane data highway and timeslot
(DS0) assignments for the unit’s three loops. Those assignments govern the exchange of data
between the DIU and the NIU. The UAS 7616 Circuit Configuration screen, shown in Figure 4-
8, is the menu for selecting which loop to configure. The selection you make there accesses the
Loop Timeslot and Highway Submenu for the loop, as shown in Figure 4-9.
Table 4-2, which follows the figure, lists the settings that can be displayed in each field of the
Loop Timeslot and Highway Submenu. Instructions for performing circuit configuration follow
the table.
