1. Safety Instructions
Correct sitting position of front
seat passenger
For the safety of front seat passengers, to re-
duce the risk of accidental injuries and deaths,
have rear seat passengers do the following:
-
The front seat passenger should move
the seat as far back as possible, leave
ample space between his/her chest and
the instrument panel, so as to get the
most safety protection by an inflating
front airbag.
- Adjust front passenger seat headrest to
make it align with head.
- Adjust the backrest of front passenger
seat to make backside fits backrest.
- Wear the seat belt correctly.
- Keep his/her feet in the foot room in front
of the front passenger seat.
Warning
Incorrect sitting posture of the front seat
passenger can lead to serious conse-
quences:
• If the front seat passenger sits too
close to the instrument panel, he/
she cannot get effective protection
from airbags.
• While driving, do not allow the front
seat passenger to put his/her feet
on the instrument panel, outside
the window or keel on the seat. But
always keep his/her feet in the foot
room. Otherwise, he/she can be in -
jured easily during emergency brak -
ing or in a crash.
• While driving, do not recline the
seat-back too far. Wear the seat belt
correctly and keep correct sitting
posture to avoid injury caused by
emergency braking.
Correct sitting position of rear seat
passengers
For the safety of rear seat passengers, to re-
duce the risk of accidental injuries and deaths,
have rear seat passengers do the following:
-
Adjust the head restraint of rear seat ac-
cording to the height so the center of the
back of the head rests against the center
of the restraint.
- Sit upright and well back in the seat.
- Keephis/her feet in the foot room in front
of the rear sea and on the floor.
- Wear seat belts properly (
see Page 14
).
- Whenever an infant or child rides in your
vehicle, take appropriate measures in
accordance with the relevant provisions,
e.g., using a suitable child seat to re-
strain the infant or child (
see page 28
) .
