3. Driving Directions

- Press the brake pedal down all the way
and then start the engine.
- Press the lock button on the front of shift
lever to shift the gear to "D" position to
enter into normal gear shifting proce-
dures.
- After shifting into D position, release the
brake pedal and press the accelerator
pedal gradually. Then, the vehicle starts
driving.
- To enter the sports mode, move the shift
lever into "S".
- To upshift or downshift manually, press
"+" or "-" on the side of the shift lever.
- With the shift lever in D position, the
default value of gear mode is normal. If
you press the switch for driving mode on
the shift panel, you can switch among E
→M→D.
- To stop your vehicle, press the brake
pedal and park the vehicle on level
ground.
- Move the shift lever in the "P" position.
- To shut off the engine, turn the ignition
switch or start switch to Lock or OFF.
- Exert parking brake.
- Turn the steering wheel back and forth to
engage its lock mechanism.
Hint
• For the vehicle model equipped
with conventional ignition switch,
after the ignition switch is turned to
LOCK, remove the key.
• When the front left door is opened,
if the key is not removed, the sys-
tem will give a beep.
• If the ignition switch or start switch
is in LOCK or OFF position and the
shift lever is not moved into P posi-
tion, the system will give a beep.
Description of gear positions
P (Park)
Come to a complete stop before shifting into P.
before shifting into P. Do not move the shift
lever into "P" until you press the lock button
on the front of the shift lever. To shift out of P,
make sure the engine has been started and
the brake pedal has been pressed down all the
way.
R (Reverse)
Use R (Reverse) if you need to reverse your
vehicle. To shift to R, come to a complete stop
and the engine is idling and then shift. When
shifting the gear from "P" position or "N" posi-
tion to "R" position, you must step the brake
pedal and press the lock button in the front of
shift lever.
When the shift lever is in R, if the ignition
switch is turned on, the reversing lights will be
illuminated automatically.
