3. Driving Directions
When the shift lever is quickly moved through
N position (for example, from R position to
D position), the shift lever lock will not lock
the shift lever. Therefore, when the vehicle is
caught in muddy roads, it can get out of trouble
by swaying back and forth.
Hint
When automatic transmission shifts gear
from one position to another position, the
shift lever will be locked. Therefore, you
need to press the release button in the
front of shift lever when shifting gear from
one position to another position.
Note
When the car starts, you need to release
parking brake.
Shifting into Reverse
- And park the car stably.
- Move the shift lever into R position.
Then, the transmission shifts into Re-
verse automatically.
- After shifting into Reverse, release the
brake pedal and press the accelerator
pedal gradually. Then, the vehicle drives
in Reverse.
In this case, keep the ignition switch or start
switch ON:
• Reversing signal lights come on.
• Reversing rearview system is activated
automatically and the reversing image
appears on the multimedia display (for
some vehicle models).
• Reverse parking assistant is started.
When the car get near the barrier, it can
send sound warnings with different fre-
quency (applicable to some models).
Precautions for parking
• Make sure the moonroof and the win -
dows are closed tightly.
• Turn off all door lamps and lock all doors,
inspect all indicator lamps on the instru-
ment panel, and make sure that the im-
mobilizer system is activated.
• Carry the valuables on your person. Do
not place them in the vehicle.
• Do not park the vehicle near flammables
or explosives.
• When parking the car, if the car is to -
wards the top of the hill, you should
make the front wheel away from the
curb.
• When leaving your car, you must take
your ignition key along with you. When
exerting parking brake, stop the engine
and lock all doors.
• For the vehicle equipped with manual
transmission, be sure to move the
shift lever into Neutral. For the vehicle
equipped with automatic transmission,
be sure to move the shift lever into P po-
sition.
• If the vehicle is facing downhill, turn the
front wheels towards the curb. If your ve-
hicle has a manual transmission, put it in
R position.
