4. Maintenance

4.4.6 Battery

Alert symbols and descriptions for

operation of the battery

1. Always wear goggles when

operating!

2. The battery electrolyte is

corrosive. Be sure to wear

protective gloves and goggles

when operating!

3. Make sure the workplace is

free of open flames, sparks,

un-covered lights and smoke!

4. The battery gives off explosive

hydrogen gas during charging!

5. Keep the electrolyte and

battery out of the reach of chil-

dren!

Unless you know the operational process and

have proper equipment, do not perform any

operation on your vehicle’s electrical system.

Otherwise, you should have this done by your

dealer.

Charging system warning lamp

This warning light indicates the generator fail-

ure.
The warning light or start switch comes on

when you turn the ignition switch to the ON po-

sition, and it goes out when the engine operat-

ing.
If the warning light comes on when the vehicle

is moving, this indicates that the generator

cannot charge the battery. Go to your dealer to

have the electrical system checked as soon as

possible.

Warning

Ignoring the warning light and the relevant

warnings can cause the vehicle damage

and personal injury or death.

Removing the battery cover plate

Battery may be located under cover plate 1 or

inside housing 1.

Open engine compartment cover.

If the battery is installed underneath the

cover plate, press the latching tongue

and raise the cover plate, and then re-

move the cover plate.

If the battery is installed in the outer

cover, turn the outer cover to one side.

Warning

Do not open the battery

•

Beware of chemical burns and bat

tery explosion.

•

Damaged or leaked battery isn't

allowed to connect. Damaged or

leaked battery should be recovered

according to law of environment

protection.

•

Before operation, carefully read and

comply with relevant safety warning

and instructions about the operation

of battery.
