UNPACKING AND INSPECTION

Unpacking

5. Some crates are secured with clips. Remove

clips with a suitable prying tool.

6. Remove the crate cover, foam packing inserts,

owner’s manual, and any other items inside
the crate.

7. Remove fasteners securing the drive to the

pallet.

8. Inspect the VFD for damage.
9. Allow the drive to remain on the pallet until

you are ready to install it in the permanent
location. Refer to

“Mounting the Drive” on

page 18

Lifting

When removing large VFDs from the pallet, use suit

able lifting equipment connected to the lifting holes at
the top outer edges of the unit.
Use a spreader bar the same width as the drive so the
lifting cables are straight up and down.
