5. Use the left and right arrow keys to move the screen arrow (
↕
) across
columns until it is under either digit of the Loop ID that you want to
change. The Loop ID is a two-digit hexadecimal number from 00h through
7Dh.
6. 6. 6. 6. To change the ID, use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through values
for each digit of the address. If you do not care what Loop IDs the library
and tape drive(s) use, you can set the Loop IDs to SA (soft addressing).

[ENTER]
to save your changes. The library resets and the changes take
effect.
Note: Unless you turn on the Require Hard ID option (see the following section),
changing the Loop ID of the library or a tape drive does not guarantee that
the selected Loop ID will be used during login on the Fibre Channel
network.
Setting the Require Hard ID Option
To set the Require Hard ID option:
1. 1. 1. 1. If the security option has been enabled, disable it (see page 50 ).

to display the menus. Press the down arrow key until “Fibre
Menu” appears.

. Press the down arrow key until the Require Hard ID Option
screen appears. This screen shows the current setting. The default setting
for the Require Hard ID option is disabled (0).
