Setting the Ethernet Addresses
To set the Ethernet addresses:

to display the menus. Press the down arrow key until “Ethernet
Menu” appears.

. The Ethernet Configuration menu appears.

. The Network Address screen appears.
There are five screens for setting Ethernet addresses: Network Address, IP
Address, SNMP Recipient, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address. Press the
down arrow key to view each screen. The options are described in Table 3-5 .

Ethernet Address
Option
Description
Network address Selects the method used to set the Internet Protocol (IP) address for the library, as
follows:
ƒ
Static – The library uses a fixed IP Address, which is assigned in the IP Address
option, described below.
ƒ
DHCP – The library uses an IP address assigned by the network DHCP (Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol) server.
Static addressing is recommended. Dynamic assignment of the library’s IP address
may require periodic reinstallation or reconfiguration of some monitoring software
applications.
IP Address Sets the IP address for the library or displays the IP address obtained by the DHCP
server.
SNMP Recipient Sets the IP address for the SNMP trap recipient.
