Overriding the Tape Drive World-Wide Names (221L-FC)
If you want to be able to replace tape drives in the 221L-FC library without
causing new world-wide names (WWNs) to be reported to your application,
you can set an option that overrides the tape drives’ WWNs. See page 37 for
more information about this option.
To override the tape drives’ WWNs:
1. 1. 1. 1. Click on Configure at the top of the page.
2. 2. 2. 2. Click on Configure the library.
3. 3. 3. 3. Click on Configure library system. A page similar to Figure 6-15 appears.
4. 4. 4. 4. Check the Override Drive WWN box.
5. 5. 5. 5. Click on the Change button.
6. 6. 6. 6. Reset the tape drive (see page 137 ) to cause the new WWNs to take effect.

Important
If you remove a tape drive after the Override Drive WWN option
has been in effect, the library-generated WWN stays with the tape
drive. If you want the tape drive to revert to its original WWN, you
must turn off the Override Drive WWN option and reset the tape
drive before removing it from the library.
