Bklite/Phone.
Selecting the
Bklite/Phone
key turns on a light behind the
DynaWrite display screen, making it easier to read in dim environments. Once the
backlight has been turned on, selecting the
Bklite/Phone
key again will turn it off.
When this feature is active, a backlight symbol (a small light bulb) will appear in
the lower right corner of the main screen. Once activated, the backlight feature
will remain on until the
Bklite
key is selected again.
When the
Bklite/Phone
key is selected in combination with the
Fn
(Function) key,
the selection invokes the
Phone
menu. This menu provides tools for making a
telephone call with your DynaWrite and a DynaVox Cabled Phone Module, and
accesses the DynaWrite phone book. For more information on using DynaWrite
telephone features, please refer to the entry for
Menu 1.6: Phone
and the
documentation that came with your DynaVox Cabled Phone Module.
Chat.
The
Chat
key allows you to temporarily interrupt the composition of text in
the Message Window. If you are typing text into the message window and you
wish to briefly speak a different message, select the
Chat
key. A new Message
Window will appear over the one you have been working in. Use this window to
create the desired conversation, then select
Chat
again to return to the original
Message Window. When the DynaWrite is in chat mode, a small icon (a small
face) will appear in the lower right corner of the display screen.
Clear.
Selecting the
Clear
key will erase all of the text in the current Message
Window. If you accidentally clear text you want to keep, select the
Undo
key (or
Ctrl
and
Z
) to automatically replace the cleared text.
Delete/Insert.
When you select the
Delete/Insert
key, any highlighted text will be
removed from the Message Window. To highlight text, move the cursor to the
beginning or end of the portion of text you want to highlight. Then, hold down
on the
Shift
key and select the right or left arrow key to expand the highlight.
When the DynaWrite is in
Be the Keyboard
mode, selecting both the
Fn
(Function)
key and the
Delete/Insert
key will access the standard keyboard
Insert
command.
