Setting Serial Line Connections

To remove a terminal from the possible working consoles, use
the disable command.

To enable a terminal to work as a console, use the enable
command.

disable Command

The disable command disables a working console. It also
removes the console from the recognized console terminals in
the environment variables list. To use the disable command,
type disable [tty(x )] and press Return.

Include the optional tty(x) parameter to disable a specific
console. If you do not include tty(x), the disable command
displays the list of currently enabled console devices. The
following are allowable values for x:

tty(0), which disables the system’s regular console

tty(2), which disables a terminal attached to the left
communications line connector

tty(3), which disables a terminal attached to the right
communications line connector
