Error-Correcting Code (ECC) Generate Test
The error-correcting code (ECC) generate test performs a write
and read operation in memory and then compares the resulting
ECC with the computed value. To run the ECC generate test,
type t 7/ecc/gen [address] and press Return.
When you type the ECC generate test command, replace the
optional address parameter with the specific address at which
you want to perform the read and write operation.
ECC generate test error codes
ECC generate test error messages have the form
?TFL: 7/ecc/gen (code)
?TFL 7/ecc/gen indicates that the ECC generate test
reported an error.
code represents a code that identifies which portion of the
test failed.
Table D-12 lists the error codes used in ECC generate test error
messages.
Table D-12.
ECC Generate Test Error Codes
Error Code
Meaning

Test failed to clear error address register.
2
Test failed to clear CHKSYN register.
3
Data blocks read from LOW bank memory did not match.
4
Checkbit read from CHKLO did not have VALID bit set.
5
LOW bank generated incorrect checkbits.
6
Data read from HIGH bank memory did not match computed
value.
7
Checkbit read from CHKHI did not have VALID bit set.
8
