fill Command
Use the fill command to write a specific value to a range
of memory. To use the fill command, type fill [- | -h | w]
[-v\bold)val] rng and press Return.
include the optional first parameter to specify data size. Word
is the default value.
Specify -b to use bytes.
Specify -h to use halfwords.
Specify -w to use words.
Include the optional -v val parameter to specify the numeric
value to write to memory. If you do not specify a value, all
zeros are written. If the size of val does not match the data size
parameter, val is shortened or expanded as necessary.
Use the rng parameter to specify the memory range. There are
two possible ways to specify the range:
addr#cnt, which fills addresses beginning at addr and
continuing for cnt locations
Replace addr with the address where you want to start
writing.
Replace cnt with the number of locations in which you
want to continue writing.
addr:addr fills all locations between the two given
addresses.
Replace the first addr parameter with the beginning
address to which you want to write.
Replace the second addr parameter with the ending
address for the values you write to memory.
Example:
>> fill -v 0xffffffff 0x80000010:0x800000ff
This command sets all bits to 1 at addresses 16 to 255.
