WARNING:
There is danger of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Replace it only with the same type
recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

■ To replace the battery
1. Shut down, and then open the imagePRESS Server (see “Shutting down the system” on page 33 )
2. Locate the battery on the motherboard (see “To remove the motherboard” on page 44 )
3. Carefully push the clip away from the battery until the socket ejects the battery.

4. Slide the battery out of its socket.
5. Wait two minutes to allow the motherboard electrical components to fully discharge.
6. To insert a new battery, slide it into the socket so that the positive (+) side of the battery faces up.
7. Press the battery down into the socket until it snaps into place.
Make sure that the battery is securely installed in the socket.
8. Reassemble the system and verify its functionality (see “To reassemble the imagePRESS Server and verify functionality” on
page 61 )
9. Configure the time and date in Setup (see “To configure the system date and time” on page 54 )
IMPORTANT:
Failure to configure the time and date will cause the imagePRESS Server to hang when user software is being installed
on the imagePRESS Server .
