ENGINE

CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY

• Fit the valve spring seats.
• Oil all the oil seals and fit them using the valve guide installer.

Specific tool: 800096671 - Valve guide remover/installer

Never reuse used oil seals.

• Insert the valves after lubricating their stems completely and evenly

with good-quality molybdenum bisulphide.

When inserting the valves, take care not to damage the oil
seal lips.

Specific product: MOLIKOTE

• Fit the valve springs with small-pitch portion A facing the cylinder

head.

B: large-pitch portion

• Fit the spring valve retainer and, using the valve lifter, compress

the springs, fit the cotter halves to the stem end, and then release
the tool to allow cotters 1 to wedge between the retainer and the
stem. Ensure that rounded lip C of the cotter halves fits snugly into
groove D in the stem end.

Be sure to restore the valves and the springs to their origi-
nal positions.
