conditions. Chips or cracks in the
paint should be repaired immediately
to prevent corrosion. If the paint peels
off and leave bare metal exposed,
contact a BYD service station to repair
the paint surface.
Check the interior of your vehicle.
Water and dirt may accumulate under
the floor mats and cause corrosion.
Regularly check under the mats to
make sure the area is dry. Be
particularly careful when transporting
chemicals, cleansers, fertilizers, etc;
these should be transported in proper
containers. If a spill or leak should
occur, immediately clean and dry the
area.
Use mud guards on your wheels. If
you drive on dusty or gravel roads,
mud guards help protect your vehicle.
Full-size mud guards, which come as
near to the ground as possible, are
the best. We recommend that the
area where the mud guards are
installed be treated to resist corrosion.
Keep your vehicle in a well ventilated
garage or a covered parking lot. Do
not park your vehicle in a damp,
poorly ventilated garage. If you wash
your vehicle in the garage, or if you
park it in the garage after driving in
rainy or snow weather, your garage
may become damp and cause
corrosion. Even if the garage remains
dry, poor ventilation may also cause
corrosion in a damp vehicle.

Wash your vehicle regularly to keep
the paint finish clean.
In any of the following cases, wash
the vehicle immediately to prevent
paint peeling off or corrosion in the
vehicle body or parts.

When driving in a coastal area;
y
After you drive on a road applied
with antifreeze;
y
When the vehicle is stuck with coal
tar, resin, bird manure or insect
remains;
y
After you drive in an area with
heavy smoke, coal ash, dust, iron
or chemical substance in the air;
y
When the vehicle is apparently
stained with mud or dust.
