Vehicle Maintenance 6-3

When Maintenance is
Needed?

Always pay attention to the change in
the performance and noise of the
vehicle, and observe other
audio-visual signs that service is
needed. The apparent signs include:

y

The engine has misfires, unstable

running or knocking sound;

y

Engine power reduces
significantly;

y

The engine is making abnormal

noise;

y

There is fluid leak at the bottom

(water dripping after using the A/C
system is normal);

y

There is abnormal noise in the

exhaust system (this indicates the
risk of CO leakage; immediately
open the windows and inspect the
exhaust system);

y

The tire pressure is insufficient:

abnormal tire noise in turning,

uneven tire wear;

y

The vehicle pulls to one side when

driving in a straight line on a flat
road;

y

There is abnormal noise in the

suspension system while driving;

y

The brake is working abnormally:

soft brake pedal, low brake pedal,
vehicle pulling to one side in
braking;

y

Coolant temperature continues to

rise.

In any of the above cases, have your
vehicle inspected by a BYD service
station. The vehicle may need
adjustment or repair.

Don't continue driving until the

vehicle is confirmed to be in
good conditions. Otherwise, this
may cause severe vehicle
damage and even personal
injury.

Maintenance Schedule

The maintenance intervals and
mileage listed in the maintenance
schedule below are designed on the
assumption that the vehicle is used
for the intended purpose. Please
follow the instructions below:

1. Don’t exceed the load limit of the

vehicle. Overload will add extra
load to the engine, brake and other
vehicle parts.

2. Don’t drive on restricted roads or

exceed the speed limit.

3. If the vehicle will not be used for a

long time, you must drive it
regularly for a few miles.

4.

Only use the recommended
gasoline.

You are recommended to use BYD
genuine parts or fluids for
maintenance. As high quality products
specifically designed for BYD vehicles,
BYD genuine parts or fluids allow
optimum operation of your vehicle.
