NOTE: These settings are also available with the position-relative-to-baseline buttons (
) in the
Text
bar.
To change the position of the text in relation to the baseline:
1
Using the
Move
tool (
), select the text shape that you wish to change. “Dancing ants” (moving dashes)
appear around the shape.

Press the Enter key. The
Text Properties
dialog box appears.

In the
Position relative to baseline
group box on the
Text Effects
tab, select the desired setting.
NOTE: The
Text Effects
tab of the
Text Properties
dialog box for the selected text shape can also be dis-
played by clicking the
Text Effects
button (
) in the
Text
bar.

Click the
OK
button.

Changing the position of the bottom text line
With text shapes created using the
Circular Text
tool (
), the bottom line of text can be positioned on the
opposite side of the baseline compared with the top line of text.
To change the position of the bottom line of text:

Using the
Move
tool (
), select the text shape that you wish to change. “Dancing ants” appear around
the shape.

Click the
Text Effects
button (
) in the
Text
bar. The
Text Effects
tab of the
Text Properties
dialog box
appears.

Select the
Reverse bottom
check box. A check mark will appear.

Click the
OK
button.

Using the Arc Text tool (
)
This tool arranges text along an arc whose beginning, end and curve you can specify. The arc can bow either
up or down.
