11.4 Output Subsystem
This subsystem controls the output of the power supply.
Subsystem Syntax
OUTPut
[:RELay]
Turns the output on or off.
DROP
[:TIME]
Sets the output voltage for a specified amount of time or indefinitely to the
voltage level set.
:LEVel
Sets
the
absolute voltage level to 'drop' to.
OUTPut[:RELay]
The output of the Power supply can be turned on (1) or off (0) using this command. The status of the
output relay can be queried as well. Note that if the output is shut-down by the remote shut-down
input signal on connector J22, the output query only returns the programmed state, not the actual
state of the output. Thus, the remote shut-down (remote inhibit) overrides the programmed state of
the output.
Command Syntax
OUTPut[:RELay] <bool>

OUTP:DROP
OUTP:LEV
OUTPut:DROP[:TIME]
The output drop command may be used to change the voltage to the UUT for a specific period of
time. This command may be used to change the output voltage for a period of time as little as 1
msec or as long as 4000 sec. The voltage setting during this time is determined by the
OUTP:DROP:LEV command.
The parameter passed with the OUTP:DROP command is the event duration in seconds. This value
can range from 0.001 (1 msec) to 4000 (1 hour, 6 min, 40 sec) but only four digits of resolution are
allowed. If no parameter is passed, the output is set to the programmed drop level indefinitely or until
a voltage command is issued. Thus valid time periods are:
Time range
Range
0.001 - 9.999
1 msec to 10 secs
10.00 - 99.99
10 secs to 100 secs
100.0 - 999.9
100 secs to 1000 secs
1000 - 4000
1000 secs to 4000 secs
no parameter
Infinite time. Use VOLT command to turn output on.
Output drop status query
The status of a drop in progress can be queried using the query format of the OUTP:DROP
command. This query will return a <Bool> indicating if the output time specified has expired (0) or
the drop is still in progress (1).
