Field current regulator

The FCR (field current regulator) is also known as manual control. It is used as a backup for the AVR

control mode as well as for testing purposes. In the FCR mode the excitation current is kept constant

according to the reference value regardless of what the network voltage or active power is. The

generator voltage changes according to the active power and to the grid voltage.

The diagram below depicts the transfer function of the field current regulator.
