8.2 Application examples and their connections

This chapter presents two application examples for the generator protection IED.

The first application example has differential protection, with the generator and a transformer between

the two current transformers. Since three line-to-neutral voltages are connected, this application uses

the voltage measurement mode "3LN" (see the image below). Additionally, both of the current

transformers have the three phase currents connected; the first CT also has the residual current (I01)

connected.
