3.2 Basic Operations
3.2.1 Basic use
Right-click on the icon displayed in the taskbar on the lower right of the
screen to open the pop-up menu as shown in Fig.3.2.1-1

1. When “Sessions” is selected:
The Sessions window is displayed (the Sessions window is also dis-
played by double-clicking the icon). Refer to Section 3.3.1 “Sessions”
for details.
2. When “Reference” is selected:
The reference signal settings are switched to built-in signals of the
MD8470A or external signals. Refer to Section 3.3.2 “Switching ref-
erence signal” for details.
3. When “Brightness” is selected:
The brightness adjustment dialog-box is displayed. For details,
refer to Section 3.3.3 “Adjusting screen brightness.”
4. When “Exit” is selected:
The icon is no longer displayed. Do not select “Exit” normally. Re-
start the MD8470A when “Exit” is selected by mistake.
The icon currently displayed in the taskbar at the lower right of the
screen changes color according to the operating conditions of the
MD8470A as shown in Table 3.2.1-1.

Dark Green The MD8470A is started and before start up of
simulation kit.
Yellow
Simulation kit is started and program is being
downloaded.
Bright Green Simulation kit is started and after program down-
load is completed.
Red When a reference signal error occurred. Refer to
Section 3.3.2 “Switching reference signal” for details.
